The Bunjae Artpia : This garden is rich
with trees as old as 300 years and as young as 30 years
including an assortment of maple trees, wisterias, pine
trees, and about 100 types of rare trees. The garden has
approximately 1,700 trees and boasts of its 100,000 Jeju
wild flowers, orchids, and other various garden trees
and plants which form a unique scenic harmony, Bunjae
Artpia is visited annually by approximately 300,000 people,
and is also a popular tour site for world public figures
such as China’s Head of State Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao,
Japan’s former Prime Minister Nakasone, and more.

Oedolgae: Also known as the Changgun
Rock,it is an amazing rock with 10 metres in circumference
and 20 metres in height that floats offshore of Sammaebong
Seogwipo City. It is surrounded by beautiful islands such
as Bum Island, Sae Island and Seonnyu(fairy) Rock. Oedolgae
was also a filming location in 2003 TV drama series, 'Daejanggeum'
where Hansangoong (Mee Kyung Yang) faced her death under
a false accusation while being carried on Daejanggeum's
(Young Ae Lee) back.

houses and facilities, Jeju Folk Village Museum has restored
the scenes of the village in the 1890’s. Among them are
Mountain Village, Hill-Country Village, Fishing Village
and Shamanism Village. On a land of more than 40 acres,
the village has been reconstructed by long-term research
and analysis of experts. Some of the extensive range of
folk items on display are 1,627 woodenware, 1,046 bamboo
ware, 1,699 earthenware, 1,544 porcelain ware, 765 wax
candles, 921 ironware, and 579 of others. |

Yakcheonsa Temple: Yakcheonsa was built
in the Buddhist style of early Joseon dynasty. With a
height of 30 meters (same as a 10 story building) and
size of 3,305 square meters, the temple boasts to be the
largest temple in Asia. A temple bell weighing 18 tons
is hanged on the belfry in front of the hall. Not only
Buddhists but also tourists visit this temple to pray
for their wishes.

Monument. It is located on the southeast side of Jeju-si,

stadium. There is a variety of plant-life in the crater.

Galjungi: Jeju's local clothes are called
Galjungi or Galot. Jeju has rough and uneven lands anda
distinct culture compared with that of other places in
Korea. These conditions affected structure of the clothes.
Galot is made from cotton, which is dyed with unripe persimmons,
and is appropriate for tough farm work. It is shaped basically
like the HanBok, the traditional Korean clothes.
